The short version
Everything stays on your device. ColorSLCT has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no server of ours that receives your data. The only network requests the app can make are the two optional ones you trigger yourself (AI suggestions and license verification), described below.
1. Data stored on your device
With your consent (the storage prompt shown on first visit), ColorSLCT saves the following in your browser’s local storage, on your device only:
- Your current palette, palette history, and WCAG preference
- Palettes you save to your library, with the names you give them
- Your light/dark theme choice and whether you’ve finished the intro tour
- Your Pro activation status (a hash-based record — not your payment details)
If you decline, the app still works fully; it simply forgets everything when you close the tab. You can change your mind anytime by clearing this site’s data in your browser — the prompt will appear again.
2. Data we receive
None in normal use. We do not collect, receive, or process personal data through the app. If you email support, we receive whatever you send us and use it only to help you.
3. Optional requests you can trigger
- AI suggestions (DeepSeek): if you use the AI feature, your browser sends your prompt, your current palette, and your own DeepSeek API key directly to
api.deepseek.com. The key is held in memory for the current session only and is never written to storage. DeepSeek’s privacy policy governs their processing. - License verification (Gumroad): if you paste a license key, your browser sends that key directly to
api.gumroad.comto confirm the purchase. Gumroad’s privacy policy governs their processing.
Neither request happens automatically, and neither passes through any server of ours.
4. Payments
Purchases are handled entirely by Gumroad and/or Stripe on their own pages. We never see your card number. The merchants provide us with standard order information (such as your email and license key) so we can support you and honor refunds.
5. Cookies
The Service sets no cookies. The consent prompt controls browser local storage (described in section 1), which is used only for the app’s own settings and your saved work — never for tracking.
6. Your rights
Because your data lives in your browser, you are always in control: view it, export it, or delete it by clearing the site’s data. For anything related to purchase records held by our payment processors, or to exercise rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA, contact support@bndrllc.com.
7. Children
The Service is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
8. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the “Last updated” date above will change. Because the app is local-first, policy changes never retroactively affect data — we don’t have it.
